The BBSRC Follow-on Fund helps bridge the gap between bioscience research and real-world benefits. You can get up to £3 million to develop your research into something that helps society or the economy. You must be based at a UK research organisation that can receive BBSRC funding. Your application must build on current or previous BBSRC research funding you have received. This is round one of the 2026 funding cycle. The deadline is not specified, so applications may be accepted on a rolling basis. You can use the money to develop your bioscience research further towards practical applications.
