Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Grants

Basingstoke and Deane Councillor Community Grants 2026/27

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

The Councillor Community Grants scheme for 2026/27 helps local voluntary and community groups pay for one-off items or activities that benefit people living in Basingstoke and Deane. The money comes from the grant allocations given to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Councillors, so your local councillors play a central part in the process. You can ask for between £250 and £3,000. Your request must show a clear community need and a community benefit that is ongoing. Applications opened on 1 June 2026 and the final deadline is midday on 1 March 2027. Before you apply, read the Guidance for Applicants. Then contact your chosen councillor or councillors to talk through your idea and confirm they support it. You then email them a completed application form and the supporting documents listed in the guidance. This scheme suits community and voluntary organisations and groups that have a specific, practical purchase or project in mind and a councillor willing to back it. The council publishes details of grants awarded in previous years, which can give you a feel for the kind of requests that have been funded. One important point: this is reimbursement funding. The grant pays you back for approved spending, so your group will need to be able to cover the cost first. You also have 8 weeks from grant approval to buy the items or deliver the approved activity, so plan your timing carefully before you apply.
