Broxtowe Borough Council Grants

Broxtowe Housing Community Fund

Broxtowe Borough Council

Broxtowe Borough Council's Housing Community Fund pays for small projects that help the council's housing customers and the communities they live in. The fund is open for applications now. You can apply for up to £1,000 per project. Your project should support one or more of the council's priorities: improving health and wellbeing; tenancy sustainment and financial inclusion; neighbourhood improvements and empowering communities; and reducing loneliness and social isolation. The aim is to support as many projects as possible in areas of the borough with council housing. The money can pay for buying or hiring equipment and tools, and for materials such as paint, plants, wood and compost. It can also pay someone to do a task, such as a gardener or joiner. You can use it to hire venues, pay for catering or pay for activities at community events. Appropriate volunteer expenses are covered too, in line with an approved expenses procedure. The fund suits Broxtowe Borough Council housing customers aged 18 or over, and constituted community groups or groups working towards a constitution. The council encourages you to listen to young people's ideas when planning your project. If you want to set up a community group, the Housing Engagement Team can help. One practical point: at least two people must sign the application. If you do not have a bank account, the council can pay suppliers on behalf of your project, but this must be agreed in advance. Some organisations cannot apply, including statutory bodies, parish and town councils, and community centres or halls seeking money for building improvements.
