The SWEF Enterprise Fund Start-Up Grant helps young people in Northern Ireland get a business idea off the ground. Community Foundation Northern Ireland runs it in partnership with SWEF Enterprise Fund. The fund supports business investment that you would otherwise not be able to afford. You can apply for up to £500. The grant goes towards an item for your business, and that item should not be worth more than £2,000. This grant suits you if you are aged 18 to 30, live in Northern Ireland and are just starting out. Your business should be pre-revenue, or turning over less than £500 a month. You need to be the majority shareholder. You should also be from a low-income household, or facing other financial challenges that stop you developing your business. There is no deadline. SWEF Enterprise Fund Business Grant

The SWEF Enterprise Fund Business Grant helps young people in Northern Ireland grow a business they have already started. Community Foundation NI runs it in partnership with SWEF Enterprise Fund. The aim is to help young people develop their business idea and get support with business investment they could not otherwise afford. You can receive up to £2,000. The grant is for businesses that turn over more than £500 per month and have been trading for less than 2 years. If your business is at an earlier stage, with no revenue yet or under £500 a month, SWEF also offers a separate Start-Up Grant of up to £500. This grant suits you if you are aged 18 to 30, live in Northern Ireland and own most of your business. You also need to be from a low-income household, or facing other financial challenges that stop you developing your business. There is no deadline. The fund is ongoing, so you can apply at any time. Ownership is the main point to watch. The application must come from the majority shareholder. If your business is a limited company, you need to be its majority owner. Any business partner over the age of 30 may not hold more than 20%. If an older partner owns a bigger share, you will not meet the rules.
