Macclesfield Town Council offers community grants to help local groups and activities in the town. The money can support a local event for adults or children, help people who might otherwise feel excluded, put on a festival or event, or buy equipment needed for an activity. There are three levels of grant. Micro grants of up to £100 are for small start-up ideas, either one-off projects or the start of a longer-term idea. Small grants are up to £250 and large grants are up to £2,000. Recent awards have paid for scout equipment, food pantry supplies, inclusive circus events, friendship groups and new sports kits. The scheme suits community groups and organisations running not-for-profit activities in Macclesfield that are open to all and benefit the town or its people. Micro grant ideas need to fit in with the town council's themes. Micro grant applications can be considered at any time. For small and large grants, the deadline is 9am on Friday 8 January 2027. The Finance Committee will make its decisions at a meeting on Monday 8 February 2027 at 7pm. One practical point: if you apply for a small or large grant, you will be asked to attend the Finance Committee meeting to introduce your application and answer questions.
