Manchester Active Grants

Manchester Active grants for children and young people’s cycling

Manchester Active

Manchester Active is offering City of Cycling grants of up to £1,000 to help develop cycling activity for children and young people in Manchester. The money is for activity aimed at young people aged 6 to 16, and the activity must take place within Manchester. The grants are part of Manchester's wider push to become a truly cycle-friendly city. In 2024, Manchester became the first European Capital of Cycling. The new Manchester City of Cycling Implementation Plan (2026 to 2031) sets out a vision for cycling to be a safe, inclusive and accessible choice for everyone. The plan is a collaboration between the Council, voluntary and community groups and regional partners. This fund could suit you if you want to start or grow cycling activity for young people in the city. Manchester already has a wide mix of cycling, from Learn to Ride sessions and led rides to bike maintenance, BMX, track cycling, mountain biking and inclusive cycling for people with disabilities. You can apply for up to £1,000. Manchester Active says it currently has these grants available. To apply, you complete Manchester Active's funding form. One thing to note: this grant is only for children and young people's cycling. If your project is for adults, this fund is not the right fit. Manchester Active says that TFGM, Cycling UK and other organisations often have funding to support adult cycling. You can email info@mcractive.com to join a mailing list about available funding to develop cycling. If you have any questions about the grants, you can contact the Manchester Active team at info@mcractive.com. Official source: https://mcractive.com/cycling/.
