The Safe and Sound Communities Fund from the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner gives grants of between £1,000 and £10,000. It pays for projects that support the aims of the Commissioner's Safe and Sound Plan. The Plan focuses on safer communities, support for victims and stronger public safety partnerships across the county. The fund will prioritise projects that support children, women and young people. To succeed, you will need to show how your project can reduce harm or offending. The Commissioner's office wants to be evidence led. It encourages you to use the Youth Endowment Fund toolkit to show your project rests on strong evidence. There is no fixed closing date, but money for the rest of this year is limited. The grant pot is £100,000 per financial year, and over £70,000 has been awarded since April 2026. Once the funds are spent, the scheme will close until the start of the next financial year in April 2027. Some costs are not funded. The fund will not pay for capital items, such as CCTV, security fencing or target hardening, or for building costs. It will not cover more than 50% of salary costs. Training or education projects must be accredited. For work with children and young people, interventions rated low in the Youth Endowment Fund toolkit will not be considered. Projects that duplicate the free Pol Ed resources already given to schools and youth settings will not be funded. If you are successful, you will need to send updates, feedback and copies of invoices and receipts. You must return any underspend and acknowledge the Commissioner's office in any publicity.
