The Oglesby Charitable Trust is running an open Spotlight fund for local climate action in Greater Manchester. It has £100,000 to share in grants of between £500 and £5,000. The money supports work with local people that takes nature-based action on climate change. Your work should feature one or more of three themes. Representation means empowering people who are often left out of climate action because of their age, disability, gender, race or income. Cohesion means bringing different groups of local people together around climate action, building connections and tackling inequalities. Participation means giving people agency and a sense of ownership over shared work. The fund suits small charities, CICs and community groups with an annual income under £250,000. You do not need to be an environmental organisation. The trust welcomes community development groups, youth organisations, health and wellbeing projects and neighbourhood groups, as long as your work engages communities directly with local, nature-based climate action. Funding is flexible. You can ask for unrestricted funding, core running costs, project delivery, continuation funding or capital purchases. The trust asks that you do not include building costs or contributions to large-scale capital projects. The fund is open now and closes on 3 November 2026. Each organisation may submit only one application per round. The fund is aimed at groups that have never been funded by the trust, so current and past grantholders cannot apply.
