Raven Housing Trust's Brighter Community Fund gives grants of up to £5,000 per project to community-led ideas that make a positive difference where you live. It is part of the trust's purpose of Building Homes, Changing Lives. The aim is to bring local people together and brighten neighbourhoods. Your project must fit one of two themes. The first is building stronger and more resilient communities. This covers projects that improve people's skills, wellbeing, opportunities or circumstances. It also covers projects that bring people together and strengthen connections within and between communities. The second theme is environmental value. This covers projects delivered with partners and communities that improve the local environment. It also covers improvements to Raven's physical assets that give a clear and lasting benefit to the wider community. The fund suits community groups with a well-planned project and a clear local benefit. Recent awards went to a pantry savings scheme in Banstead, a community chess club in Redhill and a sensory garden at a special school. Stripey Stork received £5,000 for its Teen-to-Teen project, which supported teenagers across Reigate and Banstead. Applications are reviewed and awarded every quarter. The next deadline is 30 January 2027, with decisions by 26 February 2027. A further round closes on 30 April 2027, with decisions by 28 May 2027. A panel assesses every application. You will need to show a clear local need, strong alignment with Raven's objectives, positive outcomes, a realistic and sustainable approach and good value for money.
