Lingen Davies and Shropshire Community Foundation have launched a micro-grant programme to help peer support groups for people affected by cancer. You can apply for up to £500. The fund is for local, peer-led groups that bring together people living with or beyond cancer, along with their families and carers. Both new and established groups can apply. The aim is to support regular, ongoing chances to meet, share experiences and offer each other support. These gatherings help people build friendships, swap knowledge and get the peer-to-peer support they need. The fund covers Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Mid Wales. The wider goal is to build a network of sustainable, user-led organisations across the whole region. There is a particular focus on areas of high deprivation and places where services are lacking. You can apply at any time, and applications go through the Shropshire Community Foundation website. The whole programme is worth £15,000. One thing to bear in mind: this fund is not meant for one-off or short-term projects. It is designed to strengthen and sustain regular connections over time.
