Shropshire Hills Landscape Trust

The Shropshire Hills Conservation Fund is a small grant pot from the Shropshire Hills Landscape Trust. It supports practical projects that help to conserve, enhance and raise awareness of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. The fund has two priority areas. The first is conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, landscape, wildlife or heritage of the Shropshire Hills. The second is educational and awareness-raising work about the area and its conservation, especially work that involves young people. A wide range of applicants can apply. This includes public bodies, voluntary sector organisations, town and parish councils, community groups, private sector organisations, businesses and individuals. Whoever you are, your project must show a clear public benefit. You do not need to live or work in the National Landscape, as long as your project benefits it. Grants range from £500 to £2,000. A grant can be up to 75%, so you will need match funding for the rest. Match funding can be cash, in kind support or volunteer time. Showing other sources of funding will strengthen your application. Applying has two stages. First, you send a short Project Ideas Form as an expression of interest by 15 February 2027. The team will then talk to you about your idea and recommend whether it should go forward to a full application. Full applications must be in by Monday 8 March 2027. One practical point: priority goes to first-time applicants, and there is a limit of three consecutive years of applying to the fund. If you have applied before, bear this in mind when planning.
