The RWE Tween Bridge Wind Farm Community Fund supports projects that benefit people living within 3 miles of the Tween Bridge Wind Farm near Thorne, Doncaster. Your project should fit one or more of the fund themes. These are the local community, fighting climate change and protecting the natural environment, education and training, health and wellbeing, children and young people, emerging local needs and emergency situations, and vulnerable or isolated older people. Most grants are between £500 and £7,500, usually spent within one year. Grants of more than £7,500 in one year may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Multi-year grants of up to £15,000 over three years will also be considered. You can spend the money on anything that delivers impact for your community and supports the themes. This includes capital costs, such as equipment, building works or repairs, as long as you own or lease the building or land. It also covers revenue costs, such as room hire, volunteer expenses, sessional staff or salaries. You can include a fair share of overheads like rent, utilities and admin, but you must show how you worked this out. Applications are rolling. Applications sent on 18 December will go to the end of January panel, and no project should start before 1 February. One practical point: all projects must benefit residents of the Area of Benefit. Local organisations based in the area are prioritised. Organisations based outside it are considered case by case and must show clear local benefit and a serious commitment to securing match funding.
