Southway Housing Trust Grants

Southway Beautiful South Fund

Southway Housing Trust

The Beautiful South Fund from Southway Housing Trust offers up to £1,500 for projects that bring neighbours together in South Manchester. It is open to anyone with an idea to improve their community and help make South Manchester a place where people are proud to live. The theme is neighbourliness. Your project can be big or small, from a one-off local event to a new community space. Southway gives examples such as improving green spaces, funding a local football team, hosting coffee mornings and organising neighbourly meet-ups. Your idea should focus on helping your neighbours, caring for your community, encouraging community spirit, or getting people talking and connecting. A panel of Southway tenants and staff reviews applications. It meets every two months, so the fund runs in rounds. Deadlines include 5pm on Monday 9 November, with the panel meeting on Monday 16 November. Later rounds close at 5pm on Monday 18 January and Monday 15 March. To apply, you read the guidance notes, complete the application form and email it. Save your completed form as a PDF before you send it, as this is how Southway asks to receive applications. If you are not sure whether your idea fits, you can talk it through first. Contact Diane Roege or Maureen Ward on 0161 448 4200, or email d.roege@southwayhousing.co.uk or m.ward@southwayhousing.co.uk. This is a good option if your project is unusual or you want to confirm it suits the neighbourliness theme before the deadline.
