The Veolia Telford and Wrekin EnviroGrant gives small grants to community groups that make a positive difference to their local area or environment. Applications are open now, and the closing date is 31 October 2026. The scheme funds projects that enhance or protect the local environment. That can be through practical action, education or activities that improve quality of life for the community. You can apply for up to £1,000. Recycling contractor Veolia runs the scheme in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council. It is part of the added value secured through the council's Waste Management Contract. Since it began in 2014, it has supported over 200 community initiatives and given nearly £200,000 to grassroots projects across the area. It suits properly constituted not-for-profit organisations based in the borough of Telford and Wrekin. If your group has a local environmental or community project that needs a modest sum, this could be a good fit. You apply online through the Veolia website, where you will also find the terms and conditions. Your form must be fully completed. You also need detailed quotes for any planned work or material purchases, or detailed breakdowns of other planned spending. Give yourself time to gather these before the deadline. Funding will be awarded in March 2027, so plan your project timeline around that date. One caveat: the pot is limited. Groups that were successful in the immediately previous round cannot apply this time.
