Wyre Forest District Council Grants

Wyre Forest Community Leadership Fund 2026/27

Wyre Forest District Council

The Community Leadership Fund lets each Wyre Forest District councillor support local initiatives, projects and activities of their choice in 2026-27. Each councillor has £1,000 to give to organisations whose work will benefit their ward. You cannot apply to the council directly. A councillor chooses to back your organisation and completes the application form. If you run a local project, start by talking to your ward councillor or another Wyre Forest councillor. The smallest grant is £250, so one councillor can support up to four projects. Councillors can also pool their money, so several councillors might each give to the same organisation. Your organisation must be in Wyre Forest, but it does not have to be in the councillor's own ward. Grants can cover revenue or capital costs, including contributions to building projects or buying equipment. The activity can have already happened, or it can be planned within the next six months. Councillors must allocate their funding by Sunday 31 January 2027. Any money not allocated by then goes into the council's general reserves. If your organisation is not a registered charity or statutory body, you will need proof of its legal identity, such as company registration or a constitution. No payment is made without these documents. Payment is by BACS only, and your treasurer or another office holder must sign a written receipt. You must spend the money within six months of receiving it, and any money not used for the approved purpose must be repaid. All allocations are published on the council's website, and the council's media office may issue press releases about them.
