Its priorities are the young, the elderly and the hospitality industry. Applications should be for £500 to £5,000; the usual award is around £2,000, with up to £5,000 only in exceptional circumstances. Applicants must be charities, CIOs, CICs or community amateur sports clubs with annual income under £750,000, a website, and at least two returns filed with the Charity Commission. It does not fund individuals, organisations outside the UK, or overseas expeditions or travel. The Charity Committee meets in March, June and December. Applicants should wait 24 months before reapplying, whatever the outcome.
