Full details from SSE Renewables (Stronelairg Wind Farm)

SSE Renewables' Stronelairg wind farm makes around £569,250 a year available to local communities. The Laggan part of the fund is run by SSE with decisions made by a panel of local representatives (the Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston, and Stratherrick and Foyers parts are run by local community bodies). Grants are normally from £1,001 to £25,000, and applications over £25,000 are considered for strategic projects after talking to SSE's Community Investment Manager. Projects should encourage community activity and spirit, improve access to services, improve local infrastructure and connectivity, build the local economy including apprenticeships and training, build community capacity, develop or maintain community assets, or cover heritage, culture, arts, health and wellbeing including sport. Laggan micro grants and an apprenticeship grant are also available. The next deadline is 30 November 2026, with the panel meeting at the end of January.

How to apply

Read the fund guidance linked on SSE Renewables' page for this fund, then start an application through the SSE Community Investment Portal (the 'Apply for funding' link on the same page). Saved applications can be finished later by logging back in to the portal. Use the Stronelairg Laggan application by 30 November 2026; the panel meets at the end of January. Laggan micro grant forms can be downloaded from the same page. Talk to the Community Investment Manager before applying for more than £25,000.
