Full details from South Yorkshire's Community Foundation (funded by NHS South Yorkshire)
NHS South Yorkshire, through South Yorkshire's Community Foundation, is funding community groups to gather stories, feedback and experiences from women and families who have used maternity or neonatal services in the last two to three years, to shape its service user involvement strategy and improve care. It wants to hear from communities in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield living in areas of deprivation or from Global Majority communities, with priority for Eastern European communities in Doncaster and Roma and Slovak communities in Sheffield, and particularly from Black African, Black Caribbean and other Black communities. Just over £22,500 is available to fund at least five groups, so applications should be for no more than £4,500. Grants can cover staffing (ideally at the National Living Wage), volunteer costs, resources such as food, marketing and engagement tools, and a fair share of overheads including transport. Engagement runs December 2026 to May 2027, with findings shared at a listening event in June or July 2027. The deadline is 9am on 9 November 2026.
Read the grant guidance notes and SYCF's due diligence document on the programme page, then complete South Yorkshire's Community Foundation's online application form by 9am on 9 November 2026. An online drop-in session runs on 4 November 2026 (10.30am to 11.30am); ask SYCF for the Teams invitation (0114 242 9004). A local panel decides in early December, with grants paid before Christmas.
