The Tallow Chandlers' Company's Benevolent Fund supports young, disadvantaged people through education and skills, mainly in London, to help them succeed in life, with an interest in STEM and in City-based charities and educational establishments. Its Education and Charity Committee meets four times a year and can award a one-off donation; organisations can re-appeal the following year and may then get another one-off or a three-year donation. Only one appeal per organisation is considered each year (July to June). It does not generally accept appeals from national charities, charities without a London connection, or individuals. The guidance does not state an amount. Remaining deadlines in the current cycle are 17 February 2027 (for the March meeting) and 5 May 2027 (for the June meeting).
