Overview

The Vinehill Trust gives one-off grants of £10,000 to £100,000 to charitable, educational and ecclesiastical organisations across the UK. The charity was previously called The Hamish Ogston Foundation. Its trustees want to build a broad portfolio of projects that support children and young people in three areas: heritage, music and health. In heritage, the Trust backs historic building restoration that provides jobs and training in traditional crafts, such as carving, stained glass conservation, leadwork and thatching. It also supports restoring historic fixtures, fittings and structures in designed landscapes. It has a particular interest in projects in less affluent areas that could spark wider social and economic improvement. In music, it supports choral and organ traditions in schools, churches, cathedrals and the wider community. It also funds the repair and restoration of historically or musically valuable organs, and helps children and young people take part in music-making. In health, projects must directly benefit UK residents and focus on healthcare delivery rather than general wellbeing. Applications for acute conditions, such as life-saving equipment, training and intervention, and suicide prevention services, are accepted at any time. For applications between 1 August 2026 and 30 June 2027, the temporary focus areas are rehabilitation or aftercare for physical trauma or surgery, green spaces that promote wellbeing, and oral and dental health outreach. You can apply at any time, and there is no deadline. The Trust aims to give a decision within three months. You will need to send your latest audited accounts with your application form.
