Crediton Town Council budgets money every financial year for grants to local voluntary or charitable organisations whose activities benefit the life of the community and the people of Crediton; it approved £59,065 of grants last year, typically £350 to £3,000 each. It runs two schemes. The Small Community Grants Scheme offers up to £700 and is considered on an ongoing basis by the Town Clerk. The Large Community Grants Scheme is considered annually by the Grants Sub-Committee as part of budget setting and paid no earlier than April; applications for 2027/28 are being invited now, and applicants are urged to apply early. Grants should provide or improve an asset or service for a significant number of residents, enhance Crediton's profile, meet an emergency or charitable need, or support the council's Strategic Plan.
