This fund gives grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations in and around the Lake District National Park. It supports projects that reduce poverty, improve health, tackle social inequality, or help people reach their potential. Grants to organisations benefitting people within the Lake District National Park and the immediate area for initiatives that reduce poverty, improve health, tackle social inequality, and help people reach their potential, or for projects that nurture a sense of place or promote climate action. Background Cumbria warmly welcomes millions of visitors every year. This Fund provides an opportunity for owners of second homes and holiday homes to give back to the communities that host their properties by converting their donation into much-needed grants to support local community projects that will help maintain the quality of community life enjoyed in our towns and villages. Donor Funded by donations from holiday and second homeowners, other business owners that benefit from visitor income, and visitors to Cumbria who appreciate their Lake District experience and would like to sustain the communities that welcome them.
