Enhancing resilience to wildfires in the wildland-urban interface (Grant)

This grant funds collaborative research into wildfires in areas where towns and countryside meet. You must work with partners from the US, Canada, or both. Projects focus on understanding wildfire risks and building resilience in these areas. Up to £1,575,000 is available. The deadline to apply is 1 October 2026.

This grant is for researchers based at UK research organisations that are eligible for UKRI funding. You must be working on wildfire resilience in areas where urban and rural land meets. It is not for businesses, charities, or individuals outside of eligible research organisations.

Apply for funding to deliver collaborative research projects with partners from the US, Canada or both to improve understanding of and resilience to wildfire occurrence and impacts in the wildland-urban interface. You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding.
