Google Ad Grants gives registered charities up to $10,000 a month, about £7,500, in free Google search advertising. The credit pays for text ads that appear when people search for topics related to your work, such as your services, your cause or fundraising events. It is advertising credit rather than cash, so it cannot fund salaries or running costs, but it renews every month for as long as your charity stays eligible. The programme is always open with no deadline and no competitive round. UK eligibility requires registration with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, OSCR, or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, or recognition by HMRC as a charity for tax purposes. Charity status is verified through Goodstack, Google’s verification partner. Community interest companies, schools, hospitals and government bodies are not eligible. Applicants need a working website on their own domain that loads securely and describes what the charity does. Accounts must follow ongoing programme rules, including a 5% click-through rate each month and at least one tracked conversion.
Register with Google for Nonprofits, which is free. Your charity status is verified by Goodstack, Google’s verification partner, which usually takes between a few days and two weeks. Once verified, activate Ad Grants from your Google for Nonprofits account and complete the website review. There is no deadline and no competitive round. Eligible charities that meet the programme rules are accepted.
