The Guildford Young Carers Fund, part of Guildford Philanthropy at the Community Foundation for Surrey, gives grants of up to £400 to young carers aged 5 to 18 living in the Borough of Guildford. Grants support their educational, emotional and social needs, such as extra tuition or IT equipment, school trips, residentials, clubs, music and sport, and chances to meet other young carers. It cannot fund services that are a statutory responsibility. Applications are made by a school or Action for Carers Surrey on the young carer's behalf, and outcomes usually take six to eight weeks.
A member of staff at a Guildford school or Action for Carers Surrey completes the Guildford Young Carers application form and emails it with supporting documents to grants@cfsurrey.org.uk.
