Overview

The Legal Education Foundation’s Emerging Justice Fund helps community-led organisations explore how the law could support their campaigns. You can apply at any time for a scoping grant of up to £50,000 for up to 12 months, for example to find a legal partner, build a legal strategy or understand the law behind your campaign. Decisions take up to 14 weeks, and the foundation can connect you with a legal adviser. Larger grants of £50,000 to £75,000 a year, for up to three years, are decided twice a year. You do not need to be a charity, but your work must be charitable and led by the communities you serve. The fund is unlikely to pay for individual legal cases.
