Repair Grants for Heritage at Risk

Historic England offers grants from £5,000 to £750,000 for repairing heritage buildings at risk. The money helps fix listed buildings, scheduled monuments, and registered parks and gardens. You can also use funding for project development work that leads to repairs or better management. The grants focus on the most significant historic sites in England that need urgent repair. You must show that your project would not happen without this grant funding. Applications close on 1 April 2026.

This grant is for owners or managers of heritage buildings and sites in England that are at risk. You need to own or be responsible for a listed building, scheduled monument, or registered park or garden. Your site must be in urgent need of repair and you must prove the work would not happen without this grant.

We give grants towards the repair and conservation of listed buildings, scheduled monuments and registered parks and gardens. This includes project development actions which enable repair or improved future management. Our grants under this scheme are intended to reduce the risk faced by some of the most significant historic sites in England. We focus our grants on those sites which are most in need of repair and where, without our grant, a project would not be able to go ahead.
