Sport Islington Community Grant

Overview

Sport Islington is the co-ordinated voice for voluntary sport in Islington. It has £29,000 a year to give out in grants, and this listing covers its community grant. Clubs, community groups and youth groups can apply for up to £1,250. The money is there to encourage and develop participation in sport at all levels and by all sections of the community. It supports proposed activity that is new. Individuals who perform in a sport at county level or above can apply for up to £750. The page gives some examples of what could be funded. These include a new badminton session in an Islington leisure centre, a new dance class on an Islington council estate, a new fitness session in an Islington community centre, and a fencer living in Islington who represents London. There is extra funding for new activities at Caledonian Park PlayZone. You can ask for an activity grant of up to £1,250, an equipment grant of up to £150, or a training grant of up to £250.
