Action Earth, delivered by Volunteering Matters with National Lottery Community Fund support, gives grants of up to £250 for volunteer-led projects that improve urban green spaces in Scotland. Funded activities focus on nature, such as community gardens, wildflower meadows, ponds, woodlands and wildlife habitats; food growing cannot be the main focus. At least 15 volunteers must each give at least five hours, and sites must be open to the public. Priority goes to groups in deprived areas, projects that improve health and wellbeing, and those involving disabled or excluded people or people aged 26 or under. Projects must be finished and reported by 28 February 2027.
