The A B Charitable Trust promotes human dignity and defends the human rights of marginalised and excluded people. Its Open Programme, the only one open to applications, supports small to medium-sized charities in four priority areas: the human rights framework, access to justice (a fair justice system where everyone can get high-quality legal advice), the criminal legal system and penal reform, and migrants and refugees. Grants are usually £10,000 to £40,000 a year for one to four years and, where possible, unrestricted. The Grants Committee meets four times a year. Application deadlines are 23 October 2026 (decisions January 2027), 29 January 2027 (decisions April 2027) and 30 April 2027 (decisions July 2027).
