Full details from Aberdeenshire Council

Aberdeenshire's 17 Common Good funds hold property, land, buildings and investments that belonged to the former burghs, and when there is enough income they fund projects benefiting people who live in those former burghs. The funds cover Aberchirder, Banff, Fraserburgh, Macduff, Portsoy, Rosehearty, Peterhead, Oldmeldrum, Turriff, Inverurie, Kintore, Inverbervie, Laurencekirk, Stonehaven, Ballater, Banchory and Huntly, and their annual income ranges from a few hundred pounds to over £45,000. Projects must meet at least one criterion in the council's common good policy and show direct community wide benefit. Running costs, capital investments by organisations, religious or political activities and most trips cannot be funded. The amount available is not stated as a fixed grant.

How to apply

Read the common good guidance and policy on the Aberdeenshire Council Common Good funds page, then apply to the area office for the burgh your project benefits. Only one application can be considered at a time.
