Connections Through Culture Grants

The British Council offers grants between £5,000 and £15,000 for new collaborative projects between UK artists, creative professionals, and arts organisations. Projects must involve at least one partner from an eligible participating country. A wide range of artforms qualify, including music, theatre, dance, film, literature, fashion, design, and visual arts. Projects can run in person, online, or as a mix of both. The deadline to apply is 12 August 2026.

This grant is for UK-based artists, creative practitioners, and arts organisations who want to work with international partners on a new collaborative project. You must have at least one partner based in an eligible participating country. It is not for projects without an international partner or for individuals applying on behalf of festivals in the visual arts, architecture, design, fashion, or craft sectors.

This programme, provided by the British Council, supports new collaborative projects between artists, creative practitioners, cultural professionals and arts organisations to foster cross-cultural exchange, sharing of skills and knowledge, and development of lasting international relationships. A wide range of artforms and themes are eligible including architecture, design, fashion, creative technology, film, literature, music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. Projects can be delivered digitally, in person, or through a hybrid approach.

Apply through the British Council. For visual arts, architecture, design, fashion, or craft festivals and biennials, the festival or biennial organisation must submit the application. Check the British Council website for the application portal and full country eligibility list.
