Full details from Foundation Scotland (SP Energy Networks)

Eastern Green Link 1 is a subsea electricity cable from East Lothian to County Durham. Administered by Foundation Scotland and provided by SP Energy Networks, this Local Grants round supports projects located within or directly benefiting the West Barns, Dunbar, East Lammermuir and Cockburnspath and Cove community council areas. Around £720,000 is available in this round for larger grants, and a further round will open in early 2027 if funds remain. Grants start at £20,001 and multi-year awards of up to two years are available; smaller requests of £1,000 to £20,000 go to the separate Grassroots Grants scheme run by Localgiving. Projects should fit one or more themes: financial resilience and educational inclusion; employability and skills; social and digital inclusion, health, wellbeing and active lifestyles; community facilities, spaces and buildings; green spaces and access to nature; and sustainable, inclusive transport. The fund can cover 100% of eligible costs, but projects must be ready to start within six months of an offer, and non-staff costs need three quotes. Applications close on 6 November 2026, with decisions expected in late January 2027.
