This trial tests whether Demand Turn Up (DTU) can reduce wasted renewable electricity in Great Britain. DTU means using excess renewable energy instead of switching off wind or solar farms. UK registered businesses that provide flexibility services can apply. Up to £16 million is available, with individual awards ranging from £1,000 to £3,000,000. The deadline to submit an expression of interest is 16 September 2026.

UK registered businesses providing flexibility services can submit an expression of interest for a trial assessing if DTU can reduce renewable electricity curtailment in Great Britain. Successful applicants can apply for a share of up to £16 million.
