The Tievenameenta Community Fund is an annual grant from SSE Renewables. It is funded through Tievenameenta Wind Farm in Killeter, County Tyrone. Around £80,000 is available each year for local projects that promote energy efficiency and social sustainability. The fund closes at 5pm on 18 November 2026. It suits not-for-profit organisations, community groups and social enterprises in the area around the wind farm. Groups based further away can also apply if their work makes a measurable difference to communities in the Area of Benefit. SSE wants projects that empower communities and build resilience. It is especially keen on projects that tackle local challenges in inclusive, innovative and sustainable ways. Your project should link to at least one of four UN Sustainable Development Goals: quality education, affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, or climate action. Your project must also meet at least one of SSE's two strategic objectives. The first is about the green transition. Examples include cutting carbon, clean energy, low-carbon technology, circular economy work, climate-resilient infrastructure and biodiversity. The second is about resilience, equity and learning. Examples include inclusive community buildings, education and skills, social enterprise and health projects. Past awards show the range of support. Ederney Community Development Trust received £150,000 to extend community facilities. Castlederg St Eugene's GAA club received £9,000 for gym equipment. The Forge Family Resource Centre received £4,500 to create a community garden. One practical point: meeting one test is not enough. Your project needs to fit both a UN goal and an SSE strategic objective. Official source: https://www.sserenewables.com/communities/community-fund-locations/northern-ireland/tievenameenta/.
