Full details from Historic Environment Scotland
The Historic Environment Grants Fund is Historic Environment Scotland's main open project fund. It supports projects that care for, celebrate or share Scotland's historic environment, from small community initiatives to large conservation and engagement projects, including archaeology, repair and consolidation, interim works, skills and training, outreach and learning, interpretation, maintenance plans and thatch repair. There are three streams: Express Grants of £1,000 to £25,000 (assessed on a rolling basis), Small Grants of £25,001 to £100,000 and Large Grants of £100,001 to £750,000. Repair grants typically cover up to 40% of eligible costs for charities and not for profit groups. Every applicant first submits an expression of interest, which is open all year, and HES aims to reply within 10 working days.
Read the Historic Environment Grants Fund guidance and submit an expression of interest through the HES Grants Portal at any time. If it is approved you will be invited to apply. Small and Large Grants have set application deadlines; Express Grants are rolling. Email grants@hes.scot with questions.
