Full details from GrantScape (funded by Ørsted)

The Hornsea 3 Fisheries Fund, from Ørsted's Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm and run by GrantScape, supports the fishing industry operating in the same areas as the Kittiwake artificial nesting structures, between Corton (north of Lowestoft) and Sizewell in Suffolk. It has £20,000 a year for 2024 to 2027, with grants of up to £10,000 for things like port infrastructure, training, safety and equipment. Individual fishers can get grants for equipment and boat safety, but priority goes to projects that benefit the wider local fishing community. Match funding is not needed. There are two rounds a year, and each fisher or company can get one grant a year. It cannot fund fishers outside the funding zone, salaries or running costs such as diesel and mooring fees, or retrospective costs; grants are paid as reimbursement after purchase. The current round closes at midnight on 11 November 2026, with decisions in early December 2026.

How to apply

Read the fund page on GrantScape's website and check the funding zone map, then click Next to register and complete the online application before midnight on 11 November 2026, with your licence and recent catch records. Buy the items after the decision and claim the grant with receipts and photos; payment follows within four weeks of a claim. A panel of Ørsted and Brown and May Marine decides in early December 2026. Questions go to GrantScape on 01908 247630 or info@grantscape.org.uk.
