Overview
Grants from £1,500 to £25,000 help make community football facilities safer, more inclusive and welcoming for women and girls. Funding covers up to 75% of eligible costs. This is the facilities route; the separate HERe for Teams kit and equipment route is closed and is expected to reopen in May 2027. No facilities application deadline is published.
Requirements to check
Also open to: community groups, sports clubs, schools
Key requirements:
- The standard grant covers up to 75% of eligible costs. Provide at least 25% partnership funding and check eligibility before ordering equipment or starting work.
- Applicants need a plan for women and girls at their site. Affiliated clubs must have attended, booked or joined the waiting list for an FA Equal Game workshop. Provide two quotes per item, a verified organisation, two verified contacts and a verified site. One application per organisation in 12 months; no retrospective costs.
- Professional or semi-professional first-team facilities are excluded. Wholly separate grassroots teams within a wider club may qualify if the work does not support the team playing in the football pyramid. Item-specific caps apply, including £150 for hairdryers and £1,500 for coffee machines, within a broader eligible project.
Eligible organisations providing community or grassroots football in England, including not-for-profit clubs and voluntary groups, local authorities, County FAs, professional club community organisations, charities, social enterprises and educational establishments with community access. Individuals, commercial operators and student-only facilities are excluded. Check the programme-specific restrictions on professional and semi-professional clubs.
This summary may not include every exclusion. Check the full eligibility rules, including who and what the funder will not support.
