Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Community Grants

Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner

Up to £5,000Charities & Non-Profit

The Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Grants help community organisations run short-term projects, one-off events or pilot initiatives that support the Commissioner's priorities. The Commissioner funds local services and projects that promote community safety, protect people from harm and support victims. Priority goes to crime prevention, youth diversion and work to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG). Projects should be delivered in partnership, and partnership bids are encouraged. Without sponsorship, bids are capped at £5,000 per organisation. Your project must be clearly defined and must not duplicate other work. You will also need a suitable organisational reference, so line this up early. The fund is open now and runs on a monthly rolling basis. Each round closes on the last working day of the month. Applications are assessed and decisions are made by the end of the following month, so plan your project dates with that wait in mind. The £5,000 cap applies to organisations applying without sponsorship. Community Safety Partnerships and local MPs each run their own sponsored funds, and both can support community organisations to apply through a sponsorship letter. These run on the same monthly cycle. The Commissioner also publishes a separate application checklist for bids over £5,000. Before you apply, read the 2026-27 Grant Guidance and Criteria and the grants scoring matrix. The Commissioning Framework sets out the funding priorities, and every funding decision is published on the Commissioner's Decisions page. The Commissioner also runs a monthly drop-in session where you can ask questions, or you can email funding@lancashire-pcc.gov.uk. Official source: https://www.lancashire-pcc.gov.uk/grant-funding/. Walney Extension Community Fund

GrantScape (funded by Ørsted)

£500 - £50,000Charities & Non-Profit, Environment & Conservation

The Walney Extension Community Fund gives grants to projects in coastal communities along the Cumbria and Lancashire coast. GrantScape runs it and Ørsted pays for it. It is linked to the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm in the Irish Sea, about 19km off Walney Island. Ørsted has committed around £600,000 a year for the lifetime of the wind farm. You can apply for between £500 and £50,000. Your project must be located in the funding area and must benefit communities there. The area also covers the coastal tidal zones directly in line with the onshore areas. GrantScape has an interactive map where you can enter your postcode to see if you are inside the shaded area. If you are unsure, the team would rather you call them before you spend time on an application. There are two funding rounds each year. The current round closes at midnight on 8 January 2027, and decisions will be made by the end of March 2027. The next round closes on 23 June 2027, with decisions by the end of September 2027. Late applications are moved into the following round, about six months later. Each year, £100,000 of the money is set aside for a separate Skills Fund. It has its own process and closing dates. You can apply to both funds at the same time. However, if one fund gives you a grant, your application to the other may not get priority over groups applying for the first time or those turned down before. Walney Extension Skills Fund (STEM)

GrantScape (funded by Ørsted)

£10,000 - £100,000Education

The Walney Extension Skills Fund pays for STEM education projects that help people in the Fund's benefit area build their skills and improve their job prospects. GrantScape runs it. Each year, up to £100,000 of the main Walney Extension Community Fund is set aside for it. You can apply for between £10,000 and £100,000 per application. The fund supports training or educational courses, a one off event, or a programme of targeted events. It can help you support, enhance or expand an existing local STEM project or network, such as a STEM festival, engagement day or pop up event. It can also fund new and innovative work for any age range, from early years through primary, secondary, further and higher education. Examples include wind turbine kits for school science classes, resource packs and extra curricular activities. The fund suits experienced organisations that can develop and deliver STEM learning. Third sector organisations and experienced consultancies are both welcome. Your project must take place within the Fund's benefit area, but it can focus on just one part of it. Projects can last up to two years, and previous applicants are welcome to reapply. The closing date is midnight on 24 March 2027. Final decisions are due by the end of May 2027. Take care with the date. It is different from the main Community Fund deadline, and late submissions will not be considered. One thing to watch: if your organisation already holds a live STEM grant from this fund, you cannot apply. You can only send one application to this fund. You may apply to the other Ørsted Skills Funds at the same time, but each needs a separate application. Official source: https://grantscape.org.uk/fund/wecf-the-skills-fund/.
