Ealing Better Spaces Fund 2026
Ealing Council
Ealing Council's Better Spaces fund offers grants of up to £10,000 to community and faith groups. The money helps you make your building cheaper to run, warmer in winter, cooler in summer and better able to cope with extreme weather. The fund pays for improvements that lower energy costs and help your building adapt to the impacts of climate change. Examples on the council's page include shutters and awnings, solar panels, double glazing or insulation, LED lighting upgrades, heat pumps and solar film on windows. The scheme used to be called community climate grants. The council has already awarded over £165,000 through it, and communities have added more than £100,000 of their own investment. This round has a record £100,000 available in total. It suits community and faith groups with a building that costs too much to heat or struggles in hot weather. If you have been putting off insulation, new windows or a switch to cleaner heating because of the cost, this fund could help you get started. Applications are open from 22 September to 15 November 2026. The council asks you to read its application guide before you apply. One thing to keep in mind: grants go to organisations that meet set criteria. If the fund is oversubscribed, priority goes to groups in Northolt, Southall and Greenford. John Lyon's Charity Cultural Capital Fund (Arts Organisations)
John Lyon's Charity
The Cultural Capital Fund from John Lyon's Charity helps community-focused arts charities bring high-quality arts experiences into schools. It runs as a Special Initiative within the charity's Open Programme. It aims to strengthen partnerships between arts organisations and schools across the charity's Beneficial Area. You can apply for between £10,000 and £30,000 a year for up to two years. You must partner with at least two schools. Funding can cover permanent staff salaries for up to two years, sessional staff, specialist arts practitioners and a share of management costs. Projects can include outreach, site visits, workshops, materials and CPD support for teachers. The fund suits smaller arts charities running projects for whole classes, year groups or schools. For the autumn 2026 round, priority goes to three kinds of project. The first is projects in Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Harrow and Barnet. The second is work with secondary school students or under-fives. The third is projects that celebrate art forms from ethnically diverse communities, or that widen participation for people with differing abilities. The charity especially wants more music other than classical, circus arts, creative writing including poetry, and digital arts. It will consider other applications subject to demand and available funding. The deadline is 1 November 2026. If you miss it, you can submit an expression of interest to talk through options with the Grants Team. One thing to plan for: projects must be delivered face to face, not online. The charity will not release grants until schools are confirmed and it has received letters of support from each participating school. Ealing Town Community Fund 2026/27 (Ealing Your Voice Your Town)
Ealing Council
Ealing Council has £120,000 to fund fresh ideas that help Ealing Town's high streets and neighbourhoods thrive. The fund was developed by the Ealing Town Team, made up of local residents, councillors and community representatives, working with the council. They want projects shaped and delivered with local people in mind, especially ones that bring Ealing Town's diverse communities together. Your project needs to show a strong approach to at least one of these aims: fresh ideas with strong community participation and connections; involving local businesses and organisations to increase footfall and boost the local economy; bringing older people together for leisure or fun activities; cleaner and greener high streets and neighbourhoods; or building constructive relationships within and between communities. There are two pots of funding. Smaller grants of up to £1,500 support visible community action. Larger grants go up to £15,000. The fund is open to local organisations, community groups, faith groups, local businesses and individuals with a good idea. Schools can apply too, as long as the project benefits the wider community and not only pupils, staff and families. Applications are open now and close at 1pm on 3 December 2026. You must use the money between February 2027 and December 2027. The start date depends on signing a grant agreement and completing the necessary checks. You cannot claim for costs you have already spent, and profit-making projects will not be funded. The Town Team has written Frequently Asked Questions to help you apply. It will also run online sessions and be out and about in the community to help you. Official source: https://dosomethinggood.ealing.gov.uk/your-voice-your-town/ealing-community-fund-26-27/. Hanwell Community Fund 2026/27 (Ealing Your Voice Your Town)
Ealing Council
Ealing Council's Your Voice Your Town programme has £40,000 for Hanwell's Your Town Your Future Fund in 2026-27. It backs local ideas that help shape a better future for Hanwell. Your project should make a difference to at least one of four priorities. These are helping local people share knowledge and skills, making Hanwell greener and cleaner, bringing people together across generations and age groups, and revitalising places and spaces in Hanwell. The fund is open to everyone in Hanwell. Residents, young people, local organisations, schools, community groups and faith groups can all apply, as can anyone with a great idea. The town team especially wants to hear from young people who want to lead action on one of the priorities, and from organisations that work with young people. There are two pots. Smaller sparks grants of up to £1,000 support visible community action. Larger grants go up to £6,000. Last year the fund supported 14 projects from 37 applications. Applications close at 1pm on Thursday 3 December 2026. Your project must take place, and use its grant, between February 2027 and December 2027. You cannot use the money for costs you have already paid. The fund will not pay for profit-making projects, political or campaigning activity, the promotion of religion, or projects for personal benefit. If you want help with your application, you can contact Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service. The Hanwell Town Team has also written a set of Frequently Asked Questions to guide you. Acton Community Fund 2026/27 (Ealing Your Voice Your Town)
Ealing Council
Ealing Council's Your Voice Your Town programme has £80,000 to fund local ideas that make Acton a better place. The fund, known as The Acton Effect, was developed by the Acton Town Team, a group of local residents, councillors and community representatives, working with the council. It pays for inclusive projects that build pride in Acton and bring people together across ages, cultural backgrounds and neighbourhoods. Your project must support at least one of four priorities: increasing safety; support and activities for young people; community cohesion and connections; or improving the local environment, such as tackling litter, fly-tipping, graffiti or pollution, or creating new or better green spaces. Strong ideas will also celebrate Acton's character, reflect its diversity and help tell the town's story. There are two pots. Smaller grants of up to £1,000 support visible community action. Larger grants go up to £10,000. The fund suits local people with a good idea, community groups, organisations and local businesses. Schools can apply too, as long as the project benefits the wider community and not only pupils, staff and families. Applications are open now and close at 1pm on 3 December 2026. The fund will not pay for costs you have already incurred, profit-making projects, the promotion of religion or campaigning. John Lyon's Charity Open Programme
John Lyon's Charity
John Lyon's Charity runs the Open Programme to fund work that improves the life-chances of children and young people. You can ask for core costs, salary costs or direct project funding. It suits charities that need flexible support as well as those with a specific project in mind. If you have not had a multi-year grant from the Charity before, you are likely to be offered between £10,000 and £20,000 a year for up to three years. If you have had a multi-year grant before, awards are typically above £30,000 a year, with no maximum. Grants of up to five years can be considered, in discussion with your Grants Manager. Every request should come with a fully costed budget. The Charity advises you to send your proposal as early as possible, and it will be in touch within six weeks to confirm next steps. There are two stages. Second Stage applications are considered by the Grants Committee and approved by the Trustee at meetings held twice a year, in June and November. Plan ahead. The Charity is receiving a very high volume of proposals, and meetings are oversubscribed well in advance. Where a proposal moves to the Second Stage, decisions are currently taking around ten months. The Charity cannot guarantee a timeframe that matches your funding needs, so this grant is not a good fit for urgent costs. It will stay in contact with you during the assessment to talk through your funding requirements and financial situation. If it cannot take your proposal forward, it aims to tell you as soon as possible. Official source: https://www.jlc.london/grants/charities/open-programme/.
