Every grant on this page is limited to Worcestershire or to a town, district or council area within it, as named by the funder. Funders with open grants here include Malvern Hills District Council, Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council. Strengthening Worcestershire Fund 2026 (Round 3)
Worcestershire Community Foundation
The Strengthening Worcestershire Fund helps charities and community groups support people in Worcestershire who are still feeling the effects of the cost of living. Round 3 is run by Worcestershire Community Foundation in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, with up to £115,000 to share across the county. You can apply for projects in six themes: reducing poverty and financial hardship; building individual and community resilience; improving health, wellbeing and independence; tackling social isolation; improving access to support and services; and supporting unpaid carers. Ideas include food banks, community fridges, energy advice, debt advice, dementia cafes, befriending groups, digital inclusion and community transport. Projects can help any age group, and the foundation particularly welcomes projects where deprivation is greatest. Most grants are £2,000 to £5,000. A small number of particularly strong or innovative projects with wider impacts can apply for up to £7,500, but your bid must be proportionate to your organisation's income. Applications close at 5.00 pm on 29 October 2026. Funded projects must run between 1 March 2027 and 29 February 2028, and you can ask for no more than 12 months' funding. Plan your budget carefully. Overheads and core costs cannot be more than 15% of total project costs, and capital equipment no more than 25%. At least 5% of your costs must come from in kind support, volunteering or your own match funding. Bids for capital items alone, such as a minibus, will not be funded. If your organisation received a grant from this fund in 2025, you cannot apply this round. Groups funded in 2024 may reapply. Worcestershire Councillors' Divisional Fund 2026/27
Worcestershire County Council
The Worcestershire Councillors' Divisional Fund lets each county councillor support local initiatives and 'good works' in their own area. Worcestershire County Council has 57 councillors. Each one has £12,000 to spend every financial year on locally decided projects within their Division. The fund is aimed at one-off items of expenditure and at supporting community activity. It can also support local and national charities or voluntary organisations working within the local Division. Councillors have reasonable discretion over how they spend their allocation. All spending must be lawful for the Council, rational and properly recorded. This suits charities, community groups and individuals with a clear local idea that would benefit people in their Division. The most important thing to know is that you cannot apply directly. Only your local County Councillor can submit a formal bid to the fund. Instead, you contact your councillor and ask for their support. When you do, it helps to explain how the money would promote or improve the economic, social or environmental well-being of your local area, or the people who live there. Keep in mind that £12,000 is the whole yearly pot for each councillor, not the size of a single award. Your councillor may support several local causes from the same allocation, so any amount you receive depends on their decisions. The council links to lists of payments made from the fund, including for 2026/27. Herefordshire and Worcestershire Microgrants Scheme
Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council
If you have an idea that could bring people together where you live, this small grant could help. Herefordshire Council offers the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Microgrants Scheme through its joint suicide prevention programme with Worcestershire. The scheme is now open for 2026. You can get up to £250 towards a new or existing project. The money is for activity that helps connect people, builds stronger communities and supports positive mental health and wellbeing. It can pay for goods or a service. It can help you start something new or improve a group or project that already runs. The scheme suits individuals, community groups and small volunteer-led charities and organisations with a turnover of less than £100,000. You must be based in Herefordshire or Worcestershire. Herefordshire Council wants ideas that come from local people. It believes the best ways to improve wellbeing and keep people connected start in communities. One example is Hereford Men's Mental Group, which has benefited from a micro grant. Applying is simple. You fill in an application form. If you would rather talk your idea through first, you can email the team for an informal chat. Keep in mind that the scheme is small. Around 15 projects are funded each year, so make it clear how your activity will help people where you live. Your activity must take place in Herefordshire or Worcestershire, and it must be led by residents. Worcestershire Community Wellbeing Grants
Worcestershire County Council
Worcestershire County Council's Community Wellbeing Grants back local ideas that help people live happier, healthier lives. Through its Public Health Community Grant Programme, the council offers one-off grants of up to £3,000 to community groups and small organisations working to improve wellbeing, build connections or create safer spaces. The money can help you start a new community project or expand an existing one, either by reaching new groups or adding fresh activities. The council supports several themes: youth activity and crime prevention, physical activity and active travel, pregnancy, early years and family, staying connected, healthy eating and nutrition, community resilience to local risks such as flooding or excess cold, and creative health. Your project should help reduce health inequalities, meet a clear local need and involve local residents, ideally by shaping activities around what matters to them. Some themes particularly welcome work with older adults, people with disabilities, or people less likely to use mainstream services. For Community Creative Health Grants, priority goes to projects in rural areas, Public Health Priority Neighbourhood Development areas, or with underserved communities. The grants suit charities and community groups, town and parish councils, and affiliated sports organisations. You can be funded more than once in a financial year if you have shown satisfactory evidence of delivery and impact from earlier awards. One important caveat: you must show how your project will keep making a difference once the funding ends. The council will not fund ongoing core costs such as staff, purchases made before funding is confirmed, or the continuation of a programme it has funded before. You will also be asked to share short videos, photos and participant quotes to show your impact.
