The Screwfix Foundation has partnered with Hospice UK, the national champion for more than 200 hospices across the UK. Through this partnership, the Foundation will provide improvement grants to help hospices enhance their facilities and buildings. The aim is that more people receive the care they need, now and in the future. Hospices care for around 310,000 people each year, yet many are underfunded and under increasing pressure. These grants are meant to ease that pressure by improving the buildings where care is given. The Foundation is a registered charity, set up in 2013. Its main programme currently offers local registered charities and not-for-profit organisations funding in the region of £5,000. The team reviews every application individually each quarter, in March, June, September and December. One practical point to keep in mind.
