Full details from Shetland Community Benefit Fund (Viking Community Fund)

The Community Halls Grant Scheme, run by Shetland Community Benefit Fund (SCBF), is paid for from the bank interest earned by the Viking Community Fund in 2026/27. Six grants of up to £10,000 will be made to community halls in Shetland for costs such as equipment, maintenance or refurbishment. Running costs such as insurance or utility bills are not funded. Applications need to sustain and develop the local community, show value for money and community involvement, and be financially viable. If requests exceed the money available, energy efficiency projects get priority. The scheme closes on Friday 15 January 2027, with outcomes in early March and payment around 31 March 2027. Successful halls can still apply to the Viking Community Grant Scheme.
