Full details from Sheffield City Council

Sheffield City Council's ward pots give grants to local voluntary and community groups for activities that benefit people living in a ward and contribute to the relevant Local Area Committee's priorities. Groups do not need to be a registered charity or have a constitution, but must be not for profit and have a group bank account with two unrelated signatories. Activities must start after the grant is awarded, be open to everyone (or explain why not), and be completed with the grant spent by 31 March 2027 (end of April 2027 for Easter activities). It cannot fund council departments, parish or town councils, public bodies, schools (PTAs and Friends groups can apply), businesses or individuals, or city-wide events covering several wards. Grant amounts are not stated and councillors may award less than requested.

How to apply

Find your ward on Sheffield City Council's electoral wards map, read the 2026 to 2027 ward pot guidance and ward priorities, then download and complete the application form from the ward pots page and send it to your Local Area Committee team. Some Local Area Committees run set application windows, so check with the Local Management Team (0114 20 57300) before applying. Councillors in each ward decide.
