Overview
We Love MCR Charity gives grants of up to £4,000 to groups making a real difference in Manchester neighbourhoods. It is the charity's longest-running fund. Your project must fit at least one theme: the early years, tackling loneliness and social exclusion, open spaces, or positive activities for young people. The people you help must live in the City of Manchester, not elsewhere in Greater Manchester. Applications are assessed in rounds. The next deadline is 3 November 2026, with decisions by 1 December. The charity is happy to talk through whether your idea fits before you apply. Official source: https://www.welovemcrcharity.org/stronger-communities-fund. Full details from We Love MCR Charity
Grants of up to £4,000 for community groups, charities, community interest companies and social enterprises working with communities in the City of Manchester. Projects must fit at least one of four themes: helping in the early years (children aged 0 to 4 and their parents), combating loneliness and social exclusion (for example people at risk because of advanced age or disability), protecting and improving open spaces, and offering positive youth activities. The fund runs regular assessment rounds through the year. The next deadline is 3 November 2026, with decisions by 1 December 2026. Organisations supporting communities elsewhere in Greater Manchester will not be considered. The guidance excludes private or commercial organisations and retrospective costs, and asks larger organisations to check its income rules.
Read the guidance notes on the fund page, then apply through the online application platform linked there. You can email welovemcrcharity@manchester.gov.uk first to check your project fits a theme.
