Deadline: 12 October 2026

Overview

Micro Grants of up to £1,000, spent over 12 months, are open until noon UK time on Monday 12 October 2026. They support community action around cost of living, climate action, equalities and human rights, and health and wellbeing. Connect & Grow grants are closed to new applicants; the same October date is a full-application deadline only for shortlisted applicants to that separate stream.

Requirements to check

Key requirements:

  • Private businesses, individuals, retrospective costs, statutory duties, political activity and commission-based fundraising are excluded. Faith groups need wider community benefit. CICs and CBSs must meet additional asset-lock and governance requirements; their trading costs and general overheads are not funded, but charitable projects and attributable full cost recovery can qualify.
  • Microgrants can support overheads, pilot projects, activities and small capital items. Requests can cover all project costs; applications contributing less than 20% of total costs are unlikely to be prioritised.
  • People with lived experience, under-supported causes and work addressing root causes are priorities. High reserves may reduce priority.

Organisations with charitable aims and turnover below £500,000, based in and serving residents of the City of York. General requirements include charitable governing rules and at least three unrelated decision-makers. An organisation bank account normally needs two unrelated signatories; groups using a fiscal host should discuss the arrangement with Two Ridings. CICs and CBSs have additional asset-lock and charitable-project requirements.

This summary may not include every exclusion. Check the full eligibility rules, including who and what the funder will not support.
