IGNITE is a pilot programme from the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland that gives 12-month grants of up to £2,000, with mentoring and training, to help new charities get started. It is open to charities registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (or another UK or Irish regulator if operating in NI) set up within the last two years and with limited funds. Charities must support people in greatest need, such as people living in poverty, unemployed people, and people with disabilities or mental ill health. Priority goes to charities whose core mission is supporting a vulnerable group. IGNITE is rolling but will close when its budget is reached, supporting around 20 to 40 charities. A pre-application meeting is required.
