Grants to individuals and organisations in the area of Carlisle City Council which support older people experiencing significant hardship, and who wish to remain in their own homes. Donor A bequest from the estate of Janetta T Laidlaw. Janetta was an occupational health specialist who, prior to her retirement, was employed by the Cumbria Health Authority. She was a compassionate, generous person and expressed a wish for a Trust be created to assist older people in remaining in their own homes and for the provision of additional care. Her particular concern was the importance of retaining older people’s dignity.
