This grant helps you buy a wheelchair accessible vehicle. You can get up to £2,500 towards the cost. The vehicle must cost £50,000 or less to qualify. The grant is designed to help disabled passengers travel more easily. It runs until April 2026. You need to buy an eligible wheelchair accessible vehicle to apply. The grant does not cover the full cost of the vehicle. You will need to pay the remaining amount yourself.

The Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) grant is available into financial year (FY) 2025/26 with an increased price cap of £50,000. Grant rates remain the same at up to £2,500 for an eligible vehicle. The price cap increase will bring more vehicles into scope, widening customer choice and removing barriers for disabled passengers by ensuring they can get around more easily and with peace of mind.
