Chelmsley Wood Pride in Place Get Talking Fund
Heart of England Community Foundation
This fund pays local groups to run community activities and events in Chelmsley Wood that help people shape the Pride in Place Plan, part of the UK Government's Pride in Place Programme. Heart of England Community Foundation administers it for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and the Chelmsley Wood Neighbourhood Board. You could use a grant to add Pride in Place consultation to a regular activity such as a coffee morning. You could run an event in a public space or community centre with high footfall. You could also expand your current sessions with outreach or extra activity. Funded activities must use the standard Pride in Place messaging and branding, and must collect and share community data in a standardised format. The fund suits established charities and community groups with strong roots in the area. A total of £100,000 is available. Individual organisations can apply for up to £2,000. Partnerships of two or more named organisations, with one lead, can apply for up to £10,000. The amount awarded to a partnership is likely to reflect the breadth and depth of the partnership. The fund closes on 1 December 2026, or earlier if all the money is allocated, so early applications are advised. All activities must be delivered by 26 March 2027. A final monitoring report is due on 1 May 2027. One practical point: you need at least two years of continuous delivery in Chelmsley Wood and an annual income of £1 million or less. Successful applicants must also show adequate data protection policies and practices for handling residents' personal data. Support is offered if yours are not yet in place. Sizewell C Community Fund
Suffolk Community Foundation
The Sizewell C Community Fund, run by Suffolk Community Foundation, will provide up to £23 million over the next decade. It backs projects that benefit local communities in East Suffolk, help reduce the impact of building Sizewell C nuclear power station and leave a lasting legacy. You can apply for revenue costs, such as staffing, rent, volunteer expenses and core costs (up to 15% of the award). You can also apply for capital costs, such as buildings, vehicles, IT and other equipment. You can ask for up to 100% of your project costs. There are two programmes. Small Grants offer up to £10,000 a year, with a maximum of £30,000 over three years. Large Grants are for more than £10,000 a year for up to three years. There is no set maximum, but the team advises you to ask for an amount that is realistic and proportionate to the benefit. The fund is open all year, but it works in rounds with closing dates. The current round closes on 4 January 2027 at 23:59, with decisions in early April 2027. The next round closes on 4 April 2027 at 23:59. If you miss a date, you can aim for the next one. Priority goes to projects close to development sites (within 5km) that show a clear need linked to Sizewell C construction. Projects with wider community support, inclusive activities and a sustainable legacy also score well. One practical caveat: you must speak to the team before you apply. An application form is only released once they have talked through your idea with you. The fund cannot pay for anything bought or delivered before a grant is awarded.
